The green you can see but cannot see through
The fuchsite cone inside this quartz is a solid sheet of tiny mica plates, each one flat and facing a different direction. The ones you can see are angled to bounce light back at you. The rest send it somewhere else, which is why the green looks like it is floating with clear quartz behind it.
